The Grinch!

This week we began our month of Christmas celebration!  Throughout the month our thematic unit will be all things Christmas.  It is a fun time in Kindergarten and we love making all these wonderful memories!

We read "How The Grinch Stole Christmas!" by Dr. Seuss.  The students LOVED the book!!  We had a wonderful discussion about the book which lead us to a fun activity.

We made those cute Grinch faces, at the bottom the students completed the sentence, "To make the Grinch grin I would..."  Some of the responses were:
 ..."give him presents."
 ..."bring him a Christmas tree."
 ..."invite him to our feast."
 ..."tell him its Jesus' birthday."

We also watched the movie after recess Friday afternoon!

We have been working all week on getting our classroom decorated for Christmas.  These cute snowmen are great additions.

We read the book "The Legend of the Poinsettia" by Tomie de Paola.  They enjoyed making their own poinsettias too.

Christmas pattern name plates to decorate their cubbies.

Journal writing, "What do you like about Christmas?"
"I like Rudolph."

"I like gifts."

This week the students who were top sellers in the school wide fundraiser were rewarded with lunch at Pizza Hut and a limo ride to the restaurant!  David, Paige, Caylee, Anna-Kate, Tyler and Jamiah got to enjoy this treat.
