Moms and MIssissippi

We had the honor of eating lunch with our special moms this week.  The students invited their mothers to lunch on Tuesday.  They each made their mom a card and a keepsake flower.  It was a special day indeed.

Watch the video as the students share reasons they love their moms.

Barrett and Houston's mom, Mrs. Melissa, read while we got ready for lunch.

All the moms enjoyed watching the video we made for them.

 Time for lunch!

What a special day, thanks moms for sharing it with us!

This week we learned about our great state, Mississippi.  We read many wonderful books that taught us about our state.  We learned about the coast and the Gulf of Mexico, the forest of Mississippi and the Delta.  We also learned that Mississippi means "great river" because of the Mississippi River.  We are proud to be from such a great state!

Magnolia - Mississippi's state flower and tree

We found our city on the map.

We also had some fun learning with a sports theme, since spring sports are in full swing.

Students measured the height of different balls using linking cubes.

 Creating their own jerseys.

The students made baseball cards with fun information about them on the back.
