It's the most wonderful time of the year...

This week was a fun week to decorate our classroom and get ready to celebrate Christmas!

One of our first projects was to decorate our class Christmas tree.

We read the book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" by Dr. Seuss.  The was a fun book to read, the students really enjoyed this story.  Although I had to remind the students that a real Grinch will not be coming to steal any of their presents on Christmas Eve!

After reading this book, the students made a Grinch.  They wrote on the Grinch the following sentence, "To make the Grinch grin I would...".  The students wrote things like "...give him presents.", " him decorate a Christmas tree.", " his friend.".

 Beautiful Christmas poinsettias

We began many Christmas craft keepsakes, there was a lot of hand painting this week!

 Decorating their Christmas trees.

This week we learned the letter Zz and the letter Cc.  We read many fun books and did activities to help us learn these consonant sounds.

We enjoyed the book "If You Give A Cat A Cupcake".  We made our own cupcakes from the letter Cc.
