"Fire Safety" and "Letter Ii"

This week the students enjoyed a little break from school, "Fall Break" was Monday and Tuesday, so we had a three day school week.  We ended the week with "Class T-shirt Day" on Friday.  Everyone looked great in the class shirts!

The letter of the week was "Ii".  We learned the short sound and students brought in some great pictures for the letter wall and show and tell, such as "iguanas", "iguanodon dinosaur", "igloo" and many other great "Ii" pictures.

I is also for "inchworm", we used pipe cleaners to look like inchworms crawling on the letter I.

October is "Fire Prevention Month", so we discussed fire safety.  Next week the fire department is coming to visit us too!

We learned to STOP...
