Pilgrims and Indians

This week we learned short vowel Oo.  We can read and write so many more words now!

O is for Octopus

We began a two week unit on the first Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is such a fun holiday, the students have enjoyed learning all about the pilgrims and Indians and the importance of the first Thanksgiving.

Painting the "Mayflower"

 Turkey decorations

 Indian headdress

The students made pilgrims and wrote what they were thankful for.

 Indians

 Tummy teepees

 Turkey handprints

Everyone enjoyed these fiction books about Thanksgiving.

These non-fiction books really helped us learn about the first Thanksgiving.
