Fire Safety and Letter Ff

We learned the letter Ff this week.  

Ff is for "fancy feet".  The students decorated their footprints for the letter Ff.

Homework Heroes - This week we will begin "Homework Heroes" - This is an incentive for your child to do extension activities at home.  Homework Heroes is not required but this is an excellent way for your child to be challenged and increase their reading and math skills.  Each Monday I will send home a list of 4-5 activities your child can complete at home.  They will have the whole week to complete as many of these activities as they choose.  I will also put a sticker chart in their folders, they will receive a sticker for each activity they complete.  When they fill their sticker chart they will get a homework pass.  Remember these activities are completely optional, so do as many or as few of them as you choose.  But this is an awesome way to foster your child's love for learning and to aid them in building a strong foundation for success.

Friday, October 19 - 50th Day of School!!  - Students have been counting each day of school since school began.  On Friday, October 19, it will be the 50th day of school.  All of the students at PLE will celebrate by having a 1950's inspired celebration.  Students are encouraged to dress like the 1950's (poodle skirts, blue jeans, leather jackets, etc.).  Everyone will get to join in a school wide "Sock Hop" too!

Thursday, October 25 - Pumpkin Patch Field Trip - Wear you class T-shirt! - Students will be riding school buses from PLE to the pumpkin patch in Collins, MS.  We will leave at 8:30 AM and arrive around 9:30 AM.  Parents may meet us at the pumpkin patch or follow the buses from PLE.  Parents will pay their admission to the pumpkin patch when they arrive that day, admission is $8.00.  We will leave the pumpkin patch around 1:00 PM and return to school by 2:00 PM.

Wednesday, October 31 - Fall Party at 1:00 PM - Students will enjoy seasonal refreshments and parents are welcome to attend.
