**COMING UP** Beginning Monday we are beginning a unit on Apples. Please bring your favorite type of apple to school no later than Friday, September 21.**
This week we learned about community helpers. We learned about the important jobs of those in the community that help us in our town.
The students enjoyed making crafts for community helpers.
Builders with tool belts
Doctor bags and hats
Community helper play-doh fun!
Yummy traffic light
Practicing making a pattern with fruit loops
Learning on the computers
Continuing to practice numbers
This fun activity helped us with the letter of the week, Cc, as well as counting and writing numbers.
The students rolled the dot-cube to determine how many "sprinkles", "chocolate chips" and "candles" to add to their cupcake.
Cc is for cupcake

Beginning this week your child will have a weekly reader in their folder. This is a copy of a decodable book that we will be practicing reading in class. Your child should read this book to you each night and leave in their folder throughout the week. On Friday, leave the book at home and keep for additional practice.
If you send money with your child (lunch money, fundraiser, smencil, etc.), please put it in an envelope or ziploc bag. Please write your child's name and what the money is for on the outside of the envelope or bag. Please place this in your child's folder.
