Enjoying Easter

This week we began the first of a two week celebration of Easter.  We will continue celebrating Easter next week and conclude with an Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday!!

Each morning, students have the privilege of leading the school in the Pledge of Allegiance.  First and Second graders have been doing this all year long.  Now that we Kindergarteners have gotten the hang of things it's our turn!  Our class started things off and we have been taking turns saying the pledge on the intercom for all to hear this week.  We will continue next week until everyone has had a turn.

Monday - Barrett, Houston, and Alexis

Tuesday - Gavin, Cody, and Charleigh

Wednesday - Systre'n, Joseph, and Cruz

Thursday - Abby, Jacob, and Bo

Friday - Austin, Jace, and Zaine
Our class will continue next week, everyone is looking forward to helping out with this super cool job!

We read the book "It Looks Like Spilt Milk", this story tells about all the imaginative designs that you can see when you look at the clouds.  We made our own cloud designs and used our imaginations to tell what they were.

Cassidy sees bunnies!

 Joseph sees ducks!

We have been discussing measurement in math, the students used these caterpillar rulers to measure things in our classroom.

A favorite activity - Painting with watercolors!

 Bunnies

The students painted their hands like bunnies for a sweet keepsake.

Easter themed fun on the Promethean board.

We learned digraph ch this week.  Which of course called for the creation of some "MuCHy-CrunCHy CHow!"  We used CHocolate CHip CHips ahoy CHewy cookies, CHeez-its, MunCHies, and CHeetos!

The grass gardens are growing after only one week.

Morgyn brought a caterpillar and a cocoon for show-and-tell.

Charleigh also brought in a couple of cocoons.

We added someone new to our class this week.  A HERMIT CRAB!!  By class vote, his name is "Timmy".  He is a quite friend but we're happy to have him.

 Happy Birthday, Zaine!

Joseph won the "Caught Being Good" prize for the 3rd nine weeks, a gift certificate to Toys-R-Us.  "Caught Being Good" is a positive behavior incentive program that is promoted school wide.  All of the tickets were collected in the office and Joseph's name was drawn as the winner for the whole school. Congratulations!
