Our Names and Letter Gg

This week we learned the letter Gg.  It was a "great" letter!

We made gum-ball machines.

We enjoyed some G-inspired books, "Gorilla, Be Good!" and "Gus the Goat".

Everyone made goat puppets and sang G songs.

Working in our journals on the letter G sentence.

Fun puzzles

The thematic unit was "names".  Everyone explored their name and learned how special their name was.  We especially liked the book "Chrysanthemum", where a little mouse learns just how special her name is to her.

Forming their names with alphabet magnetics.

We arranged the letters to spell our names, then used "fun crayons" to decorate.

Using art supplies to decorate our names.

In math, we began to learn how to properly form and count numbers 0-5.  Also, students were introduced to the number words one-five, we will continue to practice number and color words as sight words.

The favorite book of the week was "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom".  A fun story about the alphabet.  Everyone also enjoyed "Chicka Chicka 123".

Making "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" trees that spell their names.

Ms. Marzoni had to be out on Friday to have her wisdom teeth removed, but the students had a fun day anyway!  Thank you, Mrs. Guthrie and class, for the sweet sign you all made me.  It made me feel tons better!  I'll see you all Monday morning!
