Five Senses and Dental Health

We began the week by celebrating Valentine's Day!  We had a great time at the Valentine party.
Everyone exchanged Valentine cards and enjoyed getting nice messages from their friends.

On Monday, we did a few more Valentine's Day activities.  We made XO's (hugs and kisses) patterns.

Decorating name plates for a party.

Playing Candyland

Later in the week we learned about our five senses.  We made "Mr. Senses", he had a scented nose, jingle bell ears, a tasty candy mouth, textured arms and legs and wiggly eyes.

We also popped popcorn because you use all five senses when preparing popcorn.  Then we made "popcorn blossoms".

"Feely Boxes" - Hidden objects in each basket, students had to use their sense of touch to discover what was in each basket.

In addition to learning about our five senses we also learned about our beautiful smiles.  We incorporated a dental health unit this week.  Journaling - How many teeth have you lost?

We learned that we need to brush our teeth twice a day.

Enjoying apple smiles!

We learned so many great things about our smiles, we learned that we have 20 primary teeth and 32 permanent teeth.  We played a game were we rolled a die to count up to 32 primary teeth.  We marked the spaces with marshmallows, mini-teeth.

Paige's mom, Mrs. Tonya, is a dental hygienist.  She came and taught us how to brush our teeth and many wonderful things to keep our teeth pretty and healthy.

Pagie put some solution in her mouth to show how important it is to brush our teeth.

Everyone got their own toothbrush and many other wonderful gifts for their teeth.

Thank you, Mrs. Tonya!!

Happy Birthday, Lawson!
